📅 Why "works until"? Each release has a stop date, about six months out. It keeps everyone on a recent version: the radio protocols and the P25X gateway move on, and an old copy can confuse them. Grab the new one before the date. Your settings carry over (Admin › Save config, then Load config).

On a PC

  1. Unzip it somewhere you'll find it again, for example Documents\Kelly Page.
  2. Open index.html in Chrome or Edge. (Firefox and Safari can't talk to USB devices.)
  3. Plug in your gear by USB: a Tait radio's programming / data lead, or a MeshCore / Meshtastic node. Kelly's Admin page connects to it.
  4. Bookmark it. That's it. 🎉

Want to use the radio from another computer, or keep Kelly running with the PC off? Kelly comes with a small bridge program (start-kelly.bat, Python 3) for IP, and the Raspberry Pi image does all of it for you.

Updating

  1. In your old Kelly: Admin › Save config.
  2. Unzip the new version over the old folder.
  3. Open Kelly and press Ctrl+F5 once.
  4. Anything missing? Admin › Load config.

On the P25X network, Kelly can also fetch new releases itself over P25 data, overnight.
